Anxiety in the Time of COVID-19:
“How Can We Help Our Children?”
David P. Sylvestro, MA, CSP
November 10, 2020
1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
WEBINAR
It is a frightening time: the COVID-19 pandemic has brought shock, confusion, disbelief and uncertainty to all of us. An unknown and not easily understood danger, it has taken— and continues to take— an emotional toll. Our kids may watch the news, hear concern in our voices, and begin to feel anxious and afraid. Those children who already struggle with anxiety or anxiety-related/co-existing disorders may feel especially overwhelmed, sometimes spiraling into dread and panic. School psychologist Dave Sylvestro will give tips and strategies for helping our kids manage their anxiety and fears.
Over the years, school psychologist Dave Sylvestro has facilitated individual and group-counseling sessions for students, parent support groups, and Dads-only groups, provided training and staff development to professionals, and presented at LD conferences, both nationally and internationally. He served as school psychologist at Eagle Hill Schools for over 40 years and currently is serving in that position at The Southport School.
